Short Bio
Matthew Edwards is a PhD candidate in the Extreme Light-Matter Interactions Laboratory, advised by Prof. Julia Mikhailova. His research covers laser physics, plasma science, and fluid mechanics, focusing on the development and application of high-intensity lasers and laboratory-scale radiation and particle sources. Areas of particular study include the creation of intense attosecond pulses, plasma-based laser amplification, characterization of aerodynamic flows with femtosecond lasers, and the behavior of electron-positron plasmas. He received a Bachelor’s degree from Princeton in 2012 and holds an NSF graduate fellowship.
