Professor Emily A. Carter is the recipient of the 2015-16 Joseph O. Hirschfelder Prize in Theoretical Chemistry

The annual Joseph O. Hirschfelder Prize in Theoretical Chemistry was established by the Theoretical Chemistry Institute of The University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1991 from funds donated by Professor Joseph O. Hirschfelder (1911-1990) and his wife, Dr. Elizabeth S. Hirschfelder (1902-2002). Professor Hirschfelder had a distinguished career of teaching, research and public service at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for over forty years.
