Grad Alum named Engineer of the Year by AIAA

Doctoral alum Kurt Polzin was named Engineer of the Year by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronaustics (AIAA). 

Polzin completed his doctoral work in 2006 under the mentorship of Edgar Choueiri, professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering. He is now the Chief Engineer of the Space Nuclear Propulsion Project at NASA. 

AIAA cited Polzin for his "inspired technical leadership as Chief Engineer of NASA’s Space Nuclear Propulsion Project, positioning the nation to rapidly mature, demonstrate, and use nuclear propulsion systems."
