Princeton MAE honored its 49 graduating seniors in a Class Day ceremony on Monday, May 26, conferring honors and awards for outstanding academic achievement.
“We are so impressed with your creativity, your curiosity, your skills and insights, your accomplishments, and the depth and breadth of your thinking and doing," said Naomi Ehrich Leonard, chair and Edwin S. Wilsey Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. "We hope that what you have learned and experienced here in MAE will serve you well into the future.”
Hannah Even, David Fu and Mariko Storey-Matsutani won the Sau-Hai Lam*58 Prize in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, which honors academic achievement and excellence.
Laura Thompson won the Morgan W. McKinzie ’93 Senior Thesis Prize. This award recognizes the best senior thesis in the department.
Jasper Waldman won the John Marshall II Memorial Prize, which recognizes the excellence of independent work related to aerospace engineering.
Evan Alfandre, David Fu, Mariko Storey-Matsutani and Callum Inman won the Donald Janssen Dike Award for excellence in Undergraduate Research
Helena Frudit received the Enoch J. Durbin Prize for Engineering Innovation. This award recognizes special interest and aptitude in engineering innovation.
Sabrina Nicacio and Zoe Koniaris won the George Bienkowski Memorial Award for scholarship and service to the department.
Iris Ushizima and Rihan Sajid won the the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Undergraduate Academic Support Award.
Luc Harbor and Jimmy Tran won the Sigma Xi Book Award for excellence in research.
The School of Engineering and Applied Science held a separate ceremony to recognize the graduating seniors. SEAS selected two mechanical and aerospace students for awards:
Helena Frudit won the Joseph Clifton Elgin Prize, which recognizes a student who has done the most to advance the interests of the school in the community at large.
Laura Thompson won the Calvin Dodd MacCracken Senior Thesis/Project Award, which recognizes the senior thesis or project work that is most distinctive for its inventiveness and technical accomplishment.
