Former MAE graduate student Steve Brunton recently joined the University of Washington's Mecahnical Engineering department.

Steve Brunton focuses on combining techniques in dimensionality reduction, sparse sensing and machine learning for the data-driven control of complex dynamical systems. He is also advancing techniques to determine optimal locations of sensors and actuators for a given control objective, and he is developing adaptive controllers in an equation-free context using machine learning.
