Assistant Professor, Energy Systems - Wichita State University

The Mechanical Engineering Department at Wichita State University is pleased to announce the search for a tenure eligible faculty position at the Assistant Professor rank in the area of Energy Systems starting in August 2018. Duties include teaching, securing externally funded research, scholarship, and service.

Requirements for this position include an earned doctorate in mechanical engineering or a very closely-related engineering field by the time of appointment, a notable record of journal publications and scholarly activities, evidence of potential to attract external funding and conduct independent research, effective communication skills, evidence of teaching potential and disposition to work with diverse populations. A BS degree in mechanical engineering is required.

Preferred research areas are energy efficiency, energy conversion, energy storage for renewable power, clean water and environment, energy-water-food nexus, energy sustainability, and thermal transport processes. Preference will be given to candidates who have taught laboratory courses, done experimental research, and are enthusiastic about teaching mechanical engineering laboratory courses.
