Short Bio

Mengya Hu is a graduate student in Mechinal and Aerospace Engineering (MAE), Princeton University. She is a member of High Contrast Imaging Laboratory, advised by Prof. N. Jeremy Kasdin from MAE and coadvised by Prof. Robert Vanderbei from Operations Research and Financial Engineering. Her current research interest is control and dynamics and optics. For the time being, she focuses on the simulation of space telescope instrument: starshade. This is a fantastic idea of instrument for exploring our earth twin. Future work will be devoted to the formation flying of the starshade system.

Additionally, She was the Social Outreach Chair of Association of Chinese Students and Scholars at Princeton University (ACSSPU). She graduated from Department of Thermal Science and Energy Engineering, University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in July 2015 and was awarded the highest honor of the university, the “Guo Mo-Ruo Scholarship”(only thirty two students in the whole university awarded with the scholarship).
