Dynamic Systems and Control Faculty - Wayne State University

The Mechanical Engineering Department at Wayne State University invites candidates to apply for the tenure-track faculty position in Dynamic systems and control. We expect to make the appointment at the Assistant Professor level, but will consider exceptional senior-level candidates
with a strong track record of major external funding and peer-reviewed publications.

Applicants must have an earned doctorate in mechanical engineering or related fields with a concentration in dynamical systems and controls including robotics, autonomous systems, multiagent dynamic systems, advanced mechatronic systems and electric vehicles. Moreover, they must
show evidence of a sustained peer-reviewed publication record, have experience or strong interest in teaching and mentoring students, and have a strong commitment to scholarly collaboration with faculty within the College and University. Applicants are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Duties involve teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels in dynamics and controls, introducing new courses in the applicant’s respective field of expertise, developing an externallyfunded research program, supervising and mentoring both graduate and undergraduate students,
and engaging in professional societies and university services.
