Civil and Environmental Engineering Faculty - University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA)

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the general domain of civil engineering materials. This position is intended to support ongoing Department growth in the broader thematic areas of Infrastructure Risk Mitigation, Sustainable Urban Systems, and Water Security.

Applicants for the position must have a demonstrated record of excellence or show exceptional promise for high-quality research, teaching, and professional development in one or more of the following areas: (a) the control and prediction of the rheology of complex fluids with focus on applications including: (i) additive manufacturing of structural components and systems, and/or, (ii) development of polymers for dispersion, coagulation, and gelation of suspensions; 
(b) the development of materials and processes that have the potential for gigaton-scale CO2 capture, utilization and/or sequestration that are based on approaches such as: mineralization, catalysis, and sorption; and (c) the control and prediction of electrochemical phenomena with focus on: (i) energy production and storage, (ii) materials processing, and, (iii) enhancing the durability of engineered systems and infrastructure.
