Assistant Professor of Bio-Medical Engineering - University of Oklahoma

The School of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering (AME) at the University of Oklahoma is seeking outstanding candidates to fill a tenure-track position in mechanical engineering at the Assistant Professor level. Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in mechanical or biomedical engineering or a related field. Successful candidates are expected to teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, develop a nationally recognized research program, and attract external funding to support their research activities. Candidates with research and teaching expertise in one or more of the following specialty areas are of particular interest:
• Injury biomechanics at the tissue, organ, and system levels with an emphasis in structure – function relationship
• Biomechanical measurement and computational modeling of sound transmission through the ear for protection and restoration of hearing
• Design and development of implants or implantable devices with advanced materials and sensing techniques
