Assistant Professor in Aerospace Engineering - University of Concepcion, Chile
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at University of Concepcion, Chile, invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Aerospace Engineering at the Assistant Professor rank. The candidate must hold a doctorate in a field related to this discipline. We seek an individual with strong interest in research and teaching in astronautics, satellite engineering and remote sensing. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, supervise student research, develop links with space agencies and develop externally-funded research. Spanish language skills and industrial or practical experience in operation and design of nano-satellites are desirable.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering presently has 20 faculty members and administers Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering undergraduate and graduate programs, with more than 400 students.
Concepcion, the second largest city in Chile, is located in the central part of the country, near the Pacific Ocean, some 500 km to the south of Santiago. The University of Concepcion (www.udec.cl) is one of the three most important in the country with 16000 undergraduate and 2000 graduate students.
