Assistant or Associate Professor Mechanical Engineering - South Dakota School of Mines & Technology

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology invites applications for nine-month, tenure-track faculty position(s) at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Rank is dependent on qualifications and the record of the successful candidate. We anticipate hiring one or two positions. An earned PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field is required by the anticipated August 20, 2018 start date. The ideal candidates will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, teaching and research experience at the university level, and a strong background in one or more of the following areas: controls and robotics or thermal-fluid sciences. The successful candidates will be expected to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, develop an externally funded research program in his/her area of expertise, participate in service related activities, and supervise student design projects. Salary is commensurate with qualifications.
